Casting Cost: Card Text: From the Future - You can't cast Spider-Man 2099 during your first, second, or third turns of the game
Both Captains give the other hexproof, and then you could generally just race most people pretty quickly
This means on turn two, you can cast The Soul Stone and immediately use it, effectively only costing you a net of one mana on the turn you play it
This in turn can push interest beyond what a comparable regular MTG product is capable of over time, especially if there are restrictions on reprinting the carts featuring the third party intellectual properties in question
Since it only replaces the base game cards using the proper mods, it is possible to use More Card Expansions to add another set of custom cards in the late game
The quaint artwork and no-nonsense symmetrical pillow fort effect make this one of my favorite cards in early Magic, but it definitely commands a higher price than a lot of other cards while offering a fairly specific effect that likely isnt going to make or break your deck
